Iyengar-inspired yoga
The founding principles of B.K.S. Iyengar's yoga: precision, alignment and progression.

The practice
What this class involves
Iyengar-inspired yoga takes up the founding principles of the method created by B.K.S. Iyengar, built on three pillars.
Precision and alignment: every posture is worked with close attention to anatomical detail, to optimise how the body is aligned in space.
Use of props: blocks, straps, chairs, blankets and ropes are used to support, adapt and deepen the postures, making the practice accessible at every level and in every physical condition.
Structured progression: the asanas are arranged in progressive sequences, allowing strength, flexibility and concentration to develop gradually.
Benefits
What the class works on
- Joint alignmentFeet, knees, pelvis, spine, shoulders: every segment is placed before any intensity is added.
- Holding timePostures are held long enough for the adjustments to take effect.
- The useful detailOne precise cue — turn the thigh, lengthen the side body, ground the heel — often changes the whole posture.
- SafetyThis is the most suitable approach for back, neck or shoulder pain, subject to medical advice.
Structure
How a session unfolds
- Observation
Standing, we identify the points of support and the asymmetries: the sequence starts from there.
- Building
Each posture is broken down, corrected, repeated. The prop is a reference point, not a crutch.
- Progressive sequence
Standing postures, twists, backbends, adapted inversions: the order follows a logic of opening.
- Active rest
Supported recovery postures, then savasana.
